The International Conference on Ethnic and Cultural Entrepreneurship serves as a pivotal component of the internationalization initiative at Universitas Andalas, underscoring its prominence as a leading institution in West Sumatra. The region is predominantly inhabited by the Minangkabau ethnic group, renowned for its rich traditions in entrepreneurship and the practice of merantau, or migration. This unique cultural phenomenon suggests that Minangkabau individuals, particularly those residing beyond the confines of West Sumatra, continue to embody and uphold their cultural values in their entrepreneurial endeavors. The conference aims to facilitate an in-depth examination of ethnic-based entrepreneurship, fostering dialogue and insights from diverse academic perspectives both locally and globally. The discourse will be organised around three central themes: Ethnicity, culture, and entrepreneurial economics, thereby enriching the understanding of how these factors interplay in the entrepreneurial landscape.

We invite scholars, researchers, and practitioners from related fileds to engage in a critical examination of the interplay between ethnicity, culture, entrepreneurship, and economics and their collective influence on the global understanding of science and the humanities. Through participation in this discourse, contributors will play a vital role in advancing the theoretical and pratical dimensions of entrepreneurship.
